I have a 05E Z28. Would 0527 assembly date on a block be to late for this car?
Thanks!

What would be a fair price for a .030 DZ block in good condition?

Grag,
Just my opinion ... if it is not the exact, numbers matching block that came with the car when it was new, I dont personally think it makes a difference which block it is.
Like I said, just my opinion,

An 05E body could have been final-assembled on the Chevrolet side as early as May 29th, or as late as June 6th. A May 27th-built engine would work for either assembly plant.

grag:

I too have a non-matching DZ engine for my Z. However, all parts match by date: heads, intake, alternaor and distributor. Go down the road you choose. If the matching car was to surface someday then my engine is worth a ton of money!

grag, I have a survivor 06A car ( all June Tags are 06A ), and it was shipped in the 3rd week of June, and my stamp is VO527DZ.
If you are looking at the block on ebay, be carefull, read the VO527DZ post in Tag Team, that block is probably not a original stamp , the 5,2,7, & D fonts are wrong, concensus is it is a restamp.

Hope This Helps.

Thumbs down

Thats odd, no where in his auction does he say or even give a hint that it may be a restamp.
