I want to polish the aluminum valve cover from a
69 camaro. Whay is the best polish to use?

use the stuff that comes in a white bar. That is the finest. Red is a lil coarser. Use a real buffing wheel, not a polishing pad. A cheap one chucked in a drill will work.

Wetsand them with 600 grit before you polish.

If it is an original 69 aluminum valve cover from a Z/28, then you are ruining it by buffing.

They came unpolished from the factory and Z/28 restorers are paying more $$ for correct un-polished ones. Once you polish them, you can never take it back.

Get the casting number first. If it is aftermarket, get to the polishing [img]smile.gif[/img]
