Does my firewall need to be "adjusted" to fit a 454? I'm not planning on a tall block, but my heart's set on the big block and someone told me it probably won't fit.

Anyone know for sure? My paint guy is supposed to paint my firewall this week and I don't want to have to pay him twice.

You dont have to touch the firewall but you will ned to install Big Block frame mounts.

That I can handle. Thanks for the response--now I can get back to worrying about which cam and heads to use.

the only issue I've heard about with firewall clearance and a big block is with a factory type HEI distributor. Because of the large sized cap, you have to ding up the firewall to rotate the cap.
Other then that, my big block fits in fine...

Even if a stock HEI won't fit,you can always buy a MSD ready to run dist. They are a small cap style, yet work awsome.
