I have a '94 with 3.4 V6, 5 speed trans with 150K miles. The dealer told me that the crankshaft had too much play and when driven a bit hard the crankshaft sensor mulfunctions and causes the engine to idle high (2000 rpm). They told me to replace or rebuild the engine.
I would like to swap in an LT1 if I have to pull the motor. Has anyone done a swap like this? What do I need besides a new PCM and wiring harness? Does the 5 speed transmission bolt right in the back of the LT1? How much money do I need to budget for this? I am looking into a complete used LT1 hopefully with all the accessories with it.
