I took the lower pulley off of my 69 small block 350. When I removed the large harmonic balancer bolt there were three thin flat washers on it. Rather than put these washers back on, I ordered the correct thick washer from Rick's. The new washer came in and my bolt will not fit through the hole in the center. Not even close. Probably needs to be 1/8" larger. I checked the part number and did order the correct washer for a 69 small block. I am baffled. Is it possible that I could have a different crank in my engine? Did cranks from different years use a different sized harmonic balancer bolt? My engine is correct and has matching numbers. I plan to drill the hole in the washer bigger but I'm really curious as to why it doesn't fit.

Standard size for a 350 is 7/16". If it's 1/2", someone may have stripped the original out & redrilled & retapped it to big-block size.
