Anybody know the correct bolt size to bolt a small-block Chevy to an engine stand? Trying to stop by the hardware store on the way home today.

Thanks- Neil

The thread size is 3/8 x 16. The length, of course, depends on your stand. I recommend grade 8.

3/8"-16 (course thread) and you will want grade8 and need them about 2 3/4 - 3" long (I like to use 3" that leaves room for washers. It will depend on the stand as well, one of my stands has longer (stand-offs) and the 3" work fine there as well.

3/8"-16 x 3" did the trick. Thanks again.

the Mac stand i have in the shop needs bolts that are almost 5" long- you can have an engine on it with the clutch and pressure plate bolted to it, and the head is rotated with a crank on the side.
well worth the $350 my cousin paid for it.

you don't plan sincerity.
you have to make it up on the spot.

wanna hear about 20 years ago when i was too smart to know any better?
