Power Steering Bracket

Hello,
I believe I may have an incorrect power steering bracket. I may have a small block bracket on a big block. I appear to be about 1/4" off of alignment.
A bit of background: 67 Camaro with a Gen IV BBC, the motor mount towers are 69 Camaro and 69 motor mounts which I understand will work fine in a 67' but for some reason I didn't have the clearance with the crank pulley and sub frame using crank pulley #3937787 so I found crank pulley #3955290 which gives me the clearance needed but my power steering doesn't seem to line up correctly. I couldn't tell you which bracket I have at the moment but it was used when the car ran 25 years ago. Not sure if it aligned correctly back then. The top PS bracket was definitely cut off to make work at some point before I owned the car.
I'm not sure if the PS pulleys were changed from SBC to BBC but with the way my bracket looks, I'd say someone tried to use what they had with the original SBC.
Thanks, any help is appreciated, Jim

Re: Power Steering Bracket

I'm not sure if my 69 is the same set up as yours, but do you have the spacers (just washers) installed on the bolt that goes through the water pump? They fit in between the bracket and the pump and move the pump back towards the motor.
3955290 is the correct deep groove crank pulley.

Re: Power Steering Bracket

The spacers/washers go between the bracket and the pump on the middle bottom bolt in this picture.

And the water pump pulley in case you need it...

Re: Power Steering Bracket

It seems that it needs to come forward away from the motor a bit. I see the 69 PS brackets are different from 67/68. I think I'll just order the bracket set up and know for sure it'll line up.
I'm guessing I have a small block PS bracket because whoever put the BB in originally used all SB stuff like bell crank and trans crossmember and whatever else that was already in the car. It really screwed me up as a kid of 16 and just learning about cars. I'm older now and there's the internet so hopefully I'll get the car right now.
Thanks for your help.
PS, I'd post some pics but I'm writing back from my phone at the moment and can't figure it out.

This bracket doesn't have a part # that I can see but if someone recognizes it, maybe you can tell me what I have.
Thanks, Jim

Never mind. Mystery solved. Apparently I've had a 69-76 small block bracket all along. Nice to know after all this time.
Thanks, Jim
