ZL1 engine pad characteristics

I am doing research on the characteristics of the engine pad for the aluminum block ZL1 in 1969.

To that end I am wondering if anyone has some good photos of an unmolested 1969 ZL1 engine pad with the factory stampings.

I am particularly interested in the appearance of the surface of the engine pad as it relates to the machining process to flatten the block surface in preparation for cylinder head attachment.

Any and all assistance most appreciated.
