Blue Print 383

Well, in lieu of a 5.3LS, my wife talked me into a BP roller 383. Thanks Wife!! Time to tear out the old non-original 350.... Should make a great boat anchor.

I just finished a BP Roller 383 install for a friend. I went with the one that comes with the Fast Fuel Injection. Small Block Chevy 383ci Dress Engine 430HP/450TQ

Happy with everything and runs great

Re: Blue Print 383

Is this the BP 383 engine your wife talked you into purchasing? BP38313CTC1 - GM 383 Crate Engine | Roller Cam | Dressed | BluePrint Engines. The harmonic balancer that we recommend for our BP38313CTC1 is a 400 ci weighted, 8" diameter. Part number BPP400. Make sure your flywheel is weighted for late model 350 with 1 pc rear main seal. One like this: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/n...make/chevrolet A replacement spark plug for the Champion is Autolite AR3910, NGK
R56729. I am sure you will be really satisfied with your engine once it is finished being installed. If it was me I know I couldn't stand to wait until it was done.

Re: Blue Print 383

So why am I planning a $5-6k rebuild of my non-original 350 aiming at 400 HP and 425+ ft/lb??? Is it really just the satisfaction of doing it myself?

Re: Blue Print 383

Wife hasn't approved anything yet! The cost of the linked BP motors just makes me wonder why I (or anyone) would rebuild other than an original. How's the quality / reliability with a $5k BP engine?

Re: Blue Print 383

The carbed 383 is $4600 with free shipping.

I was impressed with the quality of the engine.

30 month 50,000 warranty is nice too

Well, no. Lol. She liked the aluminum heads because they were shinier. Also, she didn't want me to run an electric fuel pump.

I opted for the base as I already have a nice carb and dist. Also, summit charged less and there was no shipping or crate fee.
