1969 Camaro 350 LM1 or L65?

Hello we have what we think is a 1969 Camaro 350 CI engine. The block casting number upper left rear by spark plug wires is 3956618 which according to what I find on the internet was used for 302, 327, and 350 applications in 1969 Camaro only? On the upper right rear area is the casting date code C149 which apparently is March 14 of 1969. On the right front pad is stamped 19J...number sequence... ( kinda hard to read) in smaller characters....and then VO326HV with larger characters (excellent stamping). Almost all info on the HV suffix is: 1965 Corvette 350HP 327CI application....which this block IS NOT that, because ours is a large bearing, later design smog block WITHOUT a chimney hole or pad area next to distributor. Did find one site also linking HV to the LM1 350CI 255HP but other sites state that the 4-Barrel LM1 255HP was discontinued in Jan 1969 and replaced with the 2-Barrel L65 250HP. Our engine does indeed have a 2CG style 2 barrel carb (no tag of course but fuel input on front) but it is sitting on a later 80's style intake with a obnoxious EGR pimple on the pass side. We want to know which 350 engine we have here...any help appreciated in advance.

Definitely a 1969 engine, but the "J" in 19Jxxxxxx indicates the car the engine was originally installed in was built at the Janesville plant, which did not build Camaros. Are you sure V0326HV isn't really V0326HU? Can you post a picture?

LM1 in Camaros stopped in January 69 but it might have been offered in other larger vehicles for a longer time such as Caprice, Impala etc. CRG will know that time line. Definitely need to see pics of what you are seeing to confirm that J or not.

Re: 1969 Camaro 350 LM1 or L65?

Ok here I tried to attach some pixs...but apparently they are too much memory size...I could try again if I knew how to make they less resolute...anyway trust me that be a J in the 3rd place little sequence and a HV suffix in the big sequence....
Others mention the use of the LM1 in all Chevy products so I look some more:

The Impalas.org site shows:
1969 350CI 265HP TH350 is a LM1 suffix code HV.

The Chevy-Camaro.com site shows:
1969 350CI 255HP TH350 4BBL LM1 code HV.

As you mention the J Janesville build points to a Impala engine. Thanks again for the help....

19J VIN suffix is Janesville plant so its out of a Full sized Chevrolet as thats what Janesville built.
