What solenoid to use with my Delco Remy 1107496?

The Solenoid crapped out on my 67 RS W/a 327 PG and the solenoid looks somewhat new
so I want to replace it with a quality part, What do you guys recommend?

I'm going to replace that portion of the engine harness as well, the wiring looks tired

Starter P/N 1107496

D969 was the Delco short number. Long number was 1114356. Real ones turn up on ebay every once in a while.

The only reason someone would want insurance is if they want to pay someone elses bills or want someone else to pay their bills.

Here's a brand new one, still sealed, and it isn't even mine. Price is reasonable, but you never know till the last minute.

I thought about that but I am just old school I guess, these things were engineered to have the parts they have
and whenever I deviate from that some issue always comes up,,,I will just stick to stock

They were engineered to have the parts that were available at the time. They have improved dramatically over the last 50 years.

However if you like/want original that's cool too.

the original starters were to big for that little spot tacked under the exhaust manifold/headers, heat was the number one killer for the old starters. I installed a mini one 10 years ago on my camaro and never had to look at it since, i did the same to my ice cream trucks I had to replace starters yearly from all the stop and go on/off they been in there 10 years also and two engines later and still work as good as new
