Looking for cam opinion

383 sbc 4 bolt mains, scat crank, Manley rods, flat top pistons 10.25:1 compression ratio

Edelbrock performer rpm heads

Edelbrock Performer RPM intake that I plan on porting to gasket match

MSD Pro billet with 6al2

1.6 ratio roller rockers

Long tube headers

4.10 gears

I want to use a hydraulic flat tappet camshaft. Mostly street driven. Might spray it with 100-200 shot every once in a blue moon

A matched Edelbrock RPM cam.

Me, I’d call a cam manufacture and put a nice healthy matched roller cam in it for the type of driving I’d be doing.

Re: Looking for cam opinion

I loved my Performer RPM cam. But I would highly recommend going roller.

Re: Looking for cam opinion

I built a 355 that was very similar to your configuration about 10 years ago. I used the LT4 HOT cam with 1.6 ratio rockers and it was a very good running engine. I chose that cam after speaking with the Edelbrock tech after I purchased the RPM heads. As the others have said a roller cam is the way to go; you won't be disappointed.
