air cleaner element rotating.

I replaced an older air cleaner filter with a new Spectre, using the existing cover and base. After driving it twice, I've notice that the assembly is rotating counter clockwise each time. The cover has a decal that was over the Spectre name on the filter. Both are still aligned but 1/4 turn off from where I'd put it.

Is this just a case of not tightening down the nut enough? Or is something else going on?

This usually happens when replacing the filter with one that is slightly shorter in height than the previous. U can put a thick washer under the butterfly nut to take up the slack or shorten the rod that it screws on to

Ok, thanks. I was concerned that maybe the filter itself was not allowing air to pass through properly.
