Question Engine camaro 69

Hello, I appear my name is MickaŽl and I live in France.
I possess a camaro 69 and I am spirit to restore the engine.
It is one 3970010 010 020 bellhousing 010 cam gear 4 bolts 4.030 in boron, he is of 1973. I raised the thickness of the walls of cylinder: 0.200 in min face pushed piston 0.106 in min between cylinders

My first question is: what may I make of my block? I shall have wished one l48 rťplica or one 383 stroker hi torq.
Knowing that I owe the rťalťsť in 4.040 min.

By assuming that my block is too low, I give myself the ways to buy a block DART SHP 4.125 2 PC to make my possible stroker 400 this.

Let us assume that I change everything. Shall I have to buy a new engine assembled at your home? (Skip white performance or others)

It loses me a little and I wished to have your notices.
Thank you really a lot.
Cordially MickaŽl

MickaŽl

Welcome it's nice to have you.

1st do NOT buy an engine from Skip White. Bad reputation.

If you decide to buy a new Engine I suggest GM Performance or Blueprint Engines.

There is no reason you can not rebuild the block you have to 355 cubic inches or with a stroker rotating assembly to a 383.

Re: Engine camaro 69

First of all thank you for your answer, made I shall be afraid of paying an usineur to redo all the flatnesses complete of the block then rťalťsage with plate of couple which I should buy so that the rotary set which shall suit on him to be limited in the end by his performance or of his life expectancy.
I do not have the same ease as you, with the distance, the orders cost dear.
Shall I have to not bang in 1000 in 1 blows?
I wish to do that in the settled of art but that one only one time.

Yes you should take the advice of a good usineur.,

Most of the larger US suppliers have good experience shipping to Europe. Summit Racing and Jegs

Forgive I of my Englishman
Thus I do not need to worry about the thickness of the walls of cylinder?
Financially that reassures me.

With French good luck same I I am sad
A config "hi perf" old school would be cool. I possess a crankshaft 3932442 had it risen on them l48? I can find heads however a big work will have to be made, I let at you look https://www.leboncoin.fr/vi/1503528091 . 3947041 is a good number or then turn to 3927186 ?

Re: Engine camaro 69

Those are good heads however the cost to machine and rebuild may be more than the cost of new aluminum heads which will perform better.

Re: Engine camaro 69

I am soon going to see them.
The work to be made by the machiniste consists in: replacement guides and valve seats as well as flatness?
I shall prepare them I even (porting )
