Low sitting engine

Finishing a complete restoration on a 69 as a SS clone for a client. Original 327 replaced with a 69 350 with 350 engine mounts and kept the 327 frame mounts. Installed the shroud to have the 17" fan hitting the bottom of the shroud. I need another inch to clear. The question is, shim the engine mounts or replace the frame mounts to raise the engine for clearance. Replacing the frame mounts at this stage is a real pain. The research I did before on the engine mount situation was not including this issue as the correct 327 engine mounts were the same as the 350. . . .I ordered them from 4 companies!! What do you guys think?

Re: Low sitting engine

Smaller fan? Larger shroud? Depends on how "original" of a look the owner is going for. Unfortunately changing the frame mounts is not the easiest but that is what I would do.
