Wink 69 chev bb motor mounts

I have 1969 chevy bb engine mark 4 and according to the threads a good way to prevent motor mounts from breaking lose is to use a solid motor mount on the drivers side. will the solid mount fit the standard bb chev frame mount. I have read various ways of changing the other passenger mount and also changing the trans mount. will I have to shim this also ? I found moroso solid motor mounts 62515 and 62510 will one of these work ? I have a loose motor mount on the drivers side now and would like to correct this problem. this camaro will be driven to car shows and weekend tours. the engine is a 427. thanks for looking camaro ken

Re: 69 chev bb motor mounts

Most modern motor mounts have a interlock? that will not let them separate if the rubber deteriorates. Back in the day it was two steel plates bonded to a rubber block. Separation could send you on a wild ride when the engine lifted applying more throttle. Solid mounts could tattle your teeth out depending on your engine.

Re: 69 chev bb motor mounts

There is no need to run solid motor mounts. Energy Suspension makes some nice motor mounts out of Polyurethane and they are very durable and interlock as well. I have had them on my car for over three years and my motor is putting out 500+ horsepower at the flywheel. No issue's at all and very smooth running as well.

Yes. Equally as satisfied with their transmission mount as well.
