How fast???

I assume this is the right section for this. With an educated guess, how fast would a 67 be with a 735 hp/700 ft/lb big block, 4l80e, 3.73 gears, 275/40/17 MT ET Street SS radials? 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile. Thanks!

Re: How fast???

My S.W.A.G would be 9.90- 10.20 if car hooks. And that's assuming the numbers listed are at the wheel.

Good point. I should have mentioned that was gross hp. I would guesstimate parasitic loss to the flywheel would be 40 or 50 hp. So, probably 690 at the flywheel. I asked because I wonder my car, when done, would compare to a Hellcat or new Z06. The Hellcat (non-widebody) is mid 11's and 0-60 around 3.7. The Z06 is about 11.0 and 3.0. That's fast!

My goal next year is to replace the 275's with 315's since it's been mini-tubbed. Thanks, Doug!

Re: How fast???

My 64 chevy II went 10.90's with a 611hp small block. That was through a powerglide and 4.88 gears though.

Re: How fast???

My other question is would I be able to keep up with or beat a Z06 or Hellcat on the highway or stoplight to stoplight?

With traction control, be hard to beat those new cars on an oily street. I've ridden in both of those a few times, fast cars.

The Z & Hellcat will have gearing to their advantage assuming yours/theirs HP/TQ are about the same. 4L80E is a 3 speed with OD and the others if stick are 6 and assume that or more if Auto's. Also their modern computer controlled traction control and suspension, unless you are also doing a 4 link or something, give them the edge.

Nothing wrong with bench racing....but the time slip is the bottom line. Get your combo dialed in and then go out and munch on some unsuspecting Hellcat or Z06 owned by , sadly, someone with enough $ to buy it but has no clue how to drive it and just let him go up in smoke as you pull away
