Here's one for you, 8" balancer

So, have the 454 in the car right now with an 8" balancer, problem is, I also have a 1 1/8" sway bar in the car. Never heard anything, never felt anything, but today I see that they are making contact. Wow! Good thing I haven't put alot of miles on this car yet. The 427 will be ready for the car in a couple of weeks and I'm gearing up for that switch. I DID have a 8" balancer for that motor as well. Until today. Looks like I'll be getting the smaller balancer. They're what? 7 1/4"? And I doubt this would've been an issue with the stock sway bar. I'm still in shock that got by me somehow. Did I mention I'm getting old? LOL I'll take a pic tomorrow and show you. Unbelievable.

Why not just add a spacer to lower the sway bar 1/4 to clear the balancer?

Had same problem with small block 400 & 8" balancer barely clearing 1.25" sway bar. Add 1/8" spacers between sway bar mounts and subframe. it will bring the bar down enough to clear without sacrifice in performance

Spacers, good idea. I'll look at that today.

With the correct links, there are short and long, the sway bar should be parallel to the ground give or take.

Re: Here's one for you, 8" balancer

Not touching sitting on the ground, got a half inch clearance. But I think it made contact driving at some point. When you lift the car and everything drops, it makes contact. I will be shimming it, looks to be an easy fix. The links are correct, it sits flat at ride height.
