Blueprint engine

Anyone have any experience or history with this engine? I'm looking at purchasing it for my '68 to replace my existing 327. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Alan

Re: Blueprint engine

I've got this exact same engine on the way from Summit now to put in a 71 K10. Possibility it will be here by the end of the week or early next week but I've got a business trip to Orlando so probably won't get to it until the following weekend.
Best bang for the buck that I found over the last week or so searching and trying to decide.

Re: Blueprint engine

I installed the blueprint aluminum head 383 Stroker in my 67 last spring. Topped it off with a Holley sniper put 4500 miles on it last summer runs great and pulls strong very happy with it so far.

Re: Blueprint engine

Question on this engine - I plan to use my stock exhaust manifolds from my '68 327. Will they work? Are the exhaust ports the same and will the holes line up? Is the angle at which they bolt to the engine the same? Reason I ask - I'd like to know if they'll bolt to the block and to my current dual exhaust or will i have to get new exhaust manifolds or headers? Thanks!!

Re: Blueprint engine

Contact Blueprint via email with your question and then you'll have their answer in writing if later there is a problem with fit. However, since it looks like you're contemplating buying the engine from Summit you might ask Summit the same question just to cover yourself. I've heard of issues where a vendor might not stand behind its product if bought from a third party, like Summit, as opposed to bought directly from the vendor. Generally I think Summit is very good about taking returns, but shipping an engine back might be a problem if you're set on using your stock manifolds and they don't fit.

Re: Blueprint engine

I just dropped this same engine in a 71K10 this weekend. The factory cast iron exhaust manifolds will bolt right up.

Re: Blueprint engine

Dont forget...your going to need a new intake manifold and a different flexplate/flywheel as this is a one piece rear main seal block.

I don't know this for sure, but don't they use Chinese or Asian made aluminum heads on these engines? If they do, I would stay away from them.
