Adjustable engine mounts

Need to push engine back a tiny bit more to clear oil pan from touching manual steering rack bolt

I have speedtech frame and mounts
The base of the mounts are slotted and at the moment i have a little more adjustment to slide engine back

Can i use hoist and loosen stands and push engine back or completely unbolt stands from frame and push back be easier?

May be able to do "in car", but I would use a hoist to take some weight off and be easier to slide ?

Also on the trans mount. Can i get away with not using the metal plate that goes between trans and mount?

Its making the shifter plate too high that its level with the opening in the tunnel

Or is it supposed to be that way?

I believe you are referring to a shim between tranny mount & tranny. That is there, on your car, to correct drive line angle. Some cars may not have one or some may have 2

With your new engine mounts, and position, your DL angle may now be different than what it was before that did require the shim. You should measure your DL angles to see if you still need the shim....or have to keep it...or add another

Your engine/trans angle and pinion angle should be =, but opposite, and be more than 1/2 of a degree individually.

IDK what brand poly mount you have (ES?) but I assume if the mount comes with a plate it either includes it "in case" one needs it for DL angle correction or it is part of the design of the mount to = whatever height a stock rubber one might be. You could measure the combined height of the poly/plate against the height of a stock mount.

I would, given your build with aftermarket frame/mounts/tranny mount...check DL angles when you have it all together. Confirm if tranny needs to go up/down and or if pinion (axle housing) needs to move up/down in angle

is your x member stock?

Its the pre load plate

The subframe is a speedtech frame

Another option i may have is can i install crossmember underneath the part that it mounts to or will that sacrifice strength oppsed to mounting it on top of the flange

...mounting the x member "under" the frame would put all the load on the bolt only vs the x member load being "on" the frame and "secured" by the bolt. While just spit balling about this....not something I would do but it would drop the trans lower.

Not familiar with the Speedtech frame and no pics so just commenting on what I think....but can't see.

have you compared height of this poly mount with the "pre-load" plate and a stock rubber tranny mount?

FWIW if motor mounts are solid or poly....I would run a rubber tranny mount unless this is primarily a race build

Thats what i figured.
They are energy suspension mounts

I can easily get dimensions on energy suspension site but i dont have a rubber mount to compare to
