Tach reading??

69 Camaro with bbc, new msd 6A with coil, and new tachometer. The ideal rpm in the tach is 1900, while in timing gun is 900. How can I solve the problem?

Re: Tach reading??

You have to install a tach filter when installing MSD. You can look try the serch feature or Google it, theres a lot of information about it out there.

Re: Tach reading??

Most modern tachometers will work fine with the tach output signal from the 6A. What kind of timing light are you using ? The "dial back" type lights do not play well with MSD ignitions. Also, make sure that the two wires going from the MSD to the coil are "twisted" as shown in the MSD instructions.
