looking for a miracle in need of some help

hi my name is dreness i just bought an 83 z28 it has a 5.7 350 tpi ive been told the engine was redone i also looked up engine specs and noticed there were know 5.7's for that year can any1 tell me what year it may be bcuz im curious to know how much horsepower it has...also the only main mechanical problem im having with it is whenever i go fast and brake quickly i notice the car has a tendency to stall causing me to have to start it up again which can be alil embarassing at times this car has a carburator not fuel injection if that helps if any1 knows how to fix the stalling problem it would be really helpful sry if i did not provide enough info im new at this

1987 was the 1st year for factory 5.7 TPI in a Camaro. I think hp was around 230 or so.

Post back the "two letters and number" at the end of the VIN number string on the little block deck pad that is above the pass. side top water pump bolt AND maybe we can verify what motor it started out as.

They should be like "D5N" or some such code.
