Upper hose too short

I put a 383 in a 67 I am doing and will try to make it look as stock as possible.
One problem has cropped up, a stock (aftermarket) upper radiator hose is about 1.5 to 2 inches short, the lower hose and trans lines fit perfect.. any ideas?
TIA

What I like to do (especially since my hoses are rarely the stock ones anyway) is to get the parts guy to let you into his hose section and look at what he has. I always find something that fits. If I don't have a hose at all to reference from I take a piece of welding rod or wire clothes hanger and bend it to the shape I need and head to their back room.

Re: Upper hose too short

sounds like you have a hose for a small block and a big block radiator.

i believe the 23" radiator would put the top nipple over about 2" more towards the driver side than a small block radiator.

It is a 23" radiator for a small block w/ AC. I have tried the AC and non-AC hoses with no luck. Will a BB hose work on a SB?

i have no idea if the outlet sizes are the same for bb/sb. i've only dealt with the sb's. but i would imagine they are the same.

One thing you can do cheaply, but it won't look stock is to cut the hose in a straight section and add a pipe spacer using 2 hose clamps!

I had to do it to my SB AND even still have the old made up hose in my trunk.

I cut it where the fan belt cut it b/c of my broken motor mounts back then and added a short piece of sink, chrome drainpipe to keep the fan belt from cutting it again.

Heck, just use the curved ends and run all pipe between them!!
