Is this block salvagable..?

My buddy got two 350 blocks for really cheap, I looked the numbers and suffix code up and one of them was a 1970 10.25to1 300hp motor, would that be an Lt1? Anyways it's pretty rusty I was wondering if it could be cleaned up looks.

here's some pics

Once they're shot blasted, baked, and all, they may be ok ? Need to check bore and sonic test for thickness to see if overbore will be safe.

Re: Is this block salvagable..?

those pics are all of the same block, what i'm worried about is the lifter bores have a decent amount of rust in them, i'm afraid the corrosoion has made them to big!

Re: Is this block salvagable..?

lake,
Looks pretty ugly to me. If they are standard bore now, they might end up ok, but the rust in the bores looks pretty deep. Almost looks like the block was cleaned and then left to sit outside, but there are still main bearings in it ??? I think I would pass.
