carb drill bits

Does anyone know where I can get a set of wire gauge drill bits? I have seen them at local hw stores and hobby shops, but they are not long enough. I need sizes 70-61 (.0280"-.039"), but they also need to be 2 inches long.

Any suggestions?

BTW I'm trying to enlarge the idle/transition ports on a q-jet

Re: carb drill bits

We sell them where I work in Omaha Ne. (Fuchs Machinery)
Any industrial supply house should have them.
You will need "taper length" drills. They are longer than standard drills.

Some of the national chains that will have them are:
MSC Industrial Supply

Here's MSC's page. You can buy the individual sizes..

Re: carb drill bits

Just FYI: I have tapped the tubes #0-80, threaded in a screw and pulled the tubes out for adjustment. On 1 out of 12 the tube pulled slightly through the sleeve and buggered it up, but I just replaced it with one from a junk carb.
