Engine Swap

I just got a 87 camaro (good price) but it has a 173 cid 2.8L v6 and i was wondering if it is possible to just swap it out with a chevy 350 or if i need to do some major mods to get a 350 under the hood

Re: Engine Swap

You can swap out the 2.8L for a 5.7, but there is an added expense. You'll also need a transmission to go along with the 5.7L V8.

The 2.8L, 3.1L, & 3.4L V6 have their own unique trans bellhousing bolt pattern, does not match up to 5.0L V8, 5.7L V8, 4.3L V6, and others.

Plenty of donor cars in the recycle yard for swap out parts.

Give a man a rescued dog for the health of both their souls. May 2017 ROTM Winner - Thank you!
