67 Which Water Pump, Pulleys brackets etc...

Hi guys,

My engine wasn't original, so I have a mis match of components. It all works fine, (well, some of the pulleys don't line up exactly, but overall it works well)

I'm wondering, Does anyone know if my 67 should have a short or long water pump, which balancer & which pulleys, power steering pump & brackets I should be using?

Currently I have a long pump, & my alternator is mounted using 69 style brackets. My power steering pump is mounted using a make shift bracket...

Any info would be appreciated. I'm thinking of at least putting the correct water pump & correct brackets back on the block.

Either that or I'm going in the opposite direction & getting a serpentine setup.

Thanks in advance for your input!
Nick

Re: 67 Which Water Pump, Pulleys brackets etc...

1967 & 68 used the 'short' pump set-up.

Here is a link to the pulley numbers in the CRG database - http://www.camaros.org/engine.shtml#PulleySpreadsheet
Some pulley types that will work are available from the same sources as listed for the brackets below.
Correct numbered pulleys will have to be found as best you can from donor cars.

As for the brackets, you can buy most of the correct ones from the repoppers/restoration oulets, such as "Ground Up" (link at top right of page)
Or - go on a wrecking yard crawl and find what you need. These brackets were used on many Chevy models with V-8's and the options your car has. It's just a matter of finding the set-up you had and getting all the brackets and bolts off that 'donor' equiped with a short water pump and the same type engine.
Be aware that some models will have a different Harmonic Damper than yours - so be sure and note your type and get parts accourdingly.

Hope some of this helps;
John
