cleaning storing carbs

I've just removed a rochester carb off my car and am replacing it with an edelbrock. How can i properly clean the carb for storage since i will not be using it? Thanks for the help.

Re: cleaning storing carbs

I'd recomend going through it with a rebuild kit and carb cleaner. That way it's put away fresh in like new condition when you decide to reuse it. Most folks just set them on the shelf and forget about them until time of reuse and then go through them. Amounts to the same thing but the latter you save the expense of a kit and the former you save the hastle of bad varnish and stuck gaskets (maybe).
