Question 1.75 ratio 6-banger rockers on a SB head.

Anybody ever do this for a cheap increase in rocker ratio??

I know the 1.7 ratio BB rocker install is spelled out in Chevy Power but not the 6-banger rockers..

PDQ,

If I recall correctly, the BB rockers can be used on the inline 6. I'm not 100% sure if it works the other way around. If it does, then that would be an affordable extra bit of lift woudn't it?

That's why I brought it up is all.

Yes, a cheap "shade-tree" deal using a stud move and some bent valve covers for clearance to save some money.

I noticed that the new motors have high ratio rockers so why not on the old motor heads too...

And the old 348/409 "W" motors had high ratio rockers on them too...

Pdq67 the fulcum length is diffrent from the sbc. ver the six cylinder and the bbc.You have to relocate the stud to use them.It would be cheaper to buy the long slot 1.6 then to do all the machine work.

I know the fulcrum lengths are different and so require moving the studs, I was just asking if anybody had ever ran them is all.

You know, a good used set of 16, 6-banger rockers and cheap studs and some time on an endmill and there you go...

Does this mean you actually have 'some time' to be able to fiddle with your car.

Unhappy Re: 1.75 ratio 6-banger rockers on a SB head.

I know, I'm sorry and haven't done anything to it lately..

Heck, the wife is even on my case about moving the old P/U out AND I still need to finish it too...

As Gomer would say, "For shame, for shame, for shame!".......

Bad, lazy pdq67 is all................
