Stock retainers

Dose any body know what marking is on the stock retainers on a set of 291 heads.

Probably a little "V" or something like that or maybe an "O"...

It depends. The early ones (late 69) used the same retainer as every other big port head (except the L-88 ZL-1) the ones for the 70 LS-6s used a screwball thing for the mild double springs that had a plastic seal in the retainer itself. It was a good idea except the plastic seals broke.
