i have a 69 camaro with a 305 small block. i found a 400 small block from a 1973 chevy truck and was wondering if i needed to mod anything to replace the 305 with the 400?
basically, no. Remember the 400 is externally balanced, you have to use the balancer and flexplkate that came with it. Everything will bolt in tho. Get ready for some serious torque!
(Note: Doug owns a nice 406 himself. So he knows a little something about removing smile spasms from his face)
Might want to consider either freshening up the tranny in your ride or having an aftermarket one put in. I would also get some fresh rubber for the wheels. They are gonna hate you!
And don't forget to throw that boat anchor of a 305 in the lake when your done!
