Question Re: dumb question...well....maybe not...

I'm replacing a 67 filter adapter for a 68 adapter (cause at the time I installed the 67 adapter I didn't know anybetter) a friend of mine gave me the 68 adapter and filled me in about how the 67 is the wrong one to use (what are friends for?)
My question is-do I need a gasket on it? he says I don't, but I'm thinkin i do.

Also heres the big question-What kind, err part number of filter to I use on it?

The only dumb questions are the ones that don't get asked.
