Valve cover gasket
Car - 1968 Camaro - L6
How hard is it to replace the valve cover gasket on this engine? The one that is on it has started to get a little leaky and you can see on the intake side of the engine where it's leaks a little oil and it runs down the side of the block. The exuast side is mostly dry although there are some wet spots; in some cases making it to the exaust and smoking.
Anything else I need to know? Specific torque on valve cover bolts?
EDIT: Should replacement gasket be rubber or cork?

This job would basically be duck soup if you wanted to do it yourself... Most motors manuals will tell you what to do .. Torqueing is a no brainer... just enuff to get some squish to your cork gaskets. Most rubber does not absorb enuff to seal properly.

It's cake. Just put a few dabs of silicone on the cover and let it set up a little to keep the gasket in place. Just don't overtighten it.

Easy as pie. Just snug the bolts with your palm. You don't need no stinking torque wrench!
