Personally I would not convert from MAF to speed density. On SD systems, the ECM program is developed around the efficiency of the motor. If you change efficiency (heads, cam, exhaust), the program will have to be redone (or pay for a high $$ chip).
I doubt a V-6 MAF will work, but there should be plenty that will. It uses an analog MAF meaning it controls an analog voltage signal for the ECM to read. By comparison, some MAFs are frequency based meaning they change the frequency of a square wave for the ECM to read. Any voltage based MAF that is big enough for the motor and will plug in probably will work fine. They aren't cheap though if you buy new, and some autoparts stores won't exchange them.
