First Gen V8 Swap... Oil Pan?

I have a good donor engine for my 69 Camaro. It is complete and out of a 1980 1/2 ton pick up 2 wheel drive. Will the oil pan work or will I have to buy a pan for first gen camaro?

Thanks

Shanna -

If the pan on that truck engine is the original, it should be fine. GM didn't really change the small block pans that much on the light duty engines over the years.

A pan for a Camaro probably wouldn't work anyway, because of the dipstick location. The Camaro pan would be for a driver side stick, and I think a 1980 motor might have the stick on the passenger side.

As Eric suggested, it will work as long as it is a rear sump pan, which it is.
