Trying to rebuild engine...

My boyfriend has a 1994 Z28 Camaro that currently has the engine ripped apart. The heads were warped in it so he took it apart and had everything machined and has gotten all new parts. However, he doesn't know enough about the car to put it back together confidently. He's afraid of spending all of that money on it and having something put back together wrong and the guy that was going to help him was just in an accident. Anyway...what I was wondering was...is there anybody that would like to make some money on the side putting the engine back together? I'd like to do this for him as an early Christmas gift...
I'm willing to pay $30+ an hour. I live in York Pennsylvania

Re: Trying to rebuild engine...

Akitty, since a 94 would be an LT1 engine, you may also want to do an inquiry at a site such as WWW.LS1TECH.COM or WWW.LT1TECH.COM . I am not steering you away from this site... This is my favorite car site and I own a 95 Z28 ... It is just that the car has different engine management technology and other features not used in the generations of cars normally discussed here. So, especially if you are deviating from stock with any of the new parts, there will be issues such as reprogramming the computer to be addressed. It may be more than just an issue of assembling the engine. Checking for local clubs in your area is also a good consideration. Camaros, Corvettes, Impala's all used the LT1 engine ... Keep in mind that it may be hard to expect any kind of warranty in this situation, even though you are paying. BTW, a lot of us guys are real jealous right now ... Many of us can't even get our wives or girlfriends to even help to wash our car ... Let us know your boyfriend's secret ...

LOL I am just the opposite, I am totally in love with my car, my boyfriend likes my car but sometimes just doesn't understand why I like it so much, and I am a female. Don't tell me I am the only female poster here.....

Re: Trying to rebuild engine...

My boyfriends car is hot. He won't let me buy one though because he says I'll kill myself in it. I'm a usually pretty out of it when I drive. Fast cars and bad drivers don't mix....lol
