rectangular port oval port?
will a rectangular port intake bolt up to a oval port style heads?

Yes - won't be optimum, but it will work OK.

Yes it will bolt up. But you don't want to use it. The mis-match will be way out and you will be down on power!

Yeah, pretty much what JohnZ and Chris said. It'll bolt up, no problem, and will run fine. But you have an intake made for high flow, running into a "roadblock" with smaller port heads. A lot of turbulence there, which leads to far-from-optimum results.

As odd and counter-intuitive as it sounds - MANY cars have run better ET's at the track running square port intake on oval port heads.
I can't explain it, but will guess that it means there are some poor flowing oval port intakes out there - and square port versions of the same style must do SOOOO much better that it makes up for the mismatch.
