valve cover height vs. roller rockers
I placed my old chrome valve covers on my new AFR heads w/ harlan sharp roller rockers. I was surprised that they seem to fit. They're about 2 1/4 inches tall.
Small block, 400 c.i.
Pros / cons with using these valve covers w/ this setup? Besides cosmetics.

If they clear, why not? Did you spin the engine over and make SURE they clear?

I use stock chrome valve covers on my 454, with Crane Gold roller rockers. All I did was add an extra-thick gasket to the standard gasket. I glued the two gaskets together, got some longer hold-down bolts and it works great, plus it still looks original.

A lot of the aftermarket heads have the gasket mating surface (or what ever it's called) raised so you can use standard valve covers. Not sure if that's the case with the AFR's.
