need help identifying HOSE/part in the pictures.... please =)

dont know much about engines but if anyone could take a look at these pix of my 2000 v6 camaro. it started smelling like burnt oil and than i popped open the hood and saw the chrome hose was a dirty looking color. it used to be shiny

Sure looks like a TE tube. Dose the other end connect to the exhaust manifold? The discoloration is from the heat off the manifold. I belive this tube provides oxygen to the exhaust for the emmisions system. I don't think this tube has anything to do with you oil smell. Than again, I could be wrong about all this. I know there's someone out there that knows a lot more about late modle engines than I do. Phil

its not realyl an oil smell, it just smells like something is burning. so i assumed it was oil?

The tube is hooked to the EGR valve, obvious it is getting too hot, most likely because the EGR valve is staying open, not cycling pulsing as it should
