Eagle vs. Scat

I'm posting this because we've had a large number of behind the scenes requests (and questions) about the Eagle rods and the Scat's. In the past as I've stated up here we haven't used the Scat's. That was our choice. But as I've also stated up here things keep changing, rapidly. We got a call to take 10 sets of all the same rods, Scats, 6.000" #ICR-6000 (it's the I-beam SB, bushed, with cap screws), and we're going to take them up on the offer. It's the identical rod (dimensionally) as Eagles #SIR-6000-BB-LW. We'll get them in after the Jan. 10, 2006 and proceed to testing. We are not concerned at all with a strength comparison (all that has been corrected from the past), we feel both will serve our needs in this area, nor will we be "worried" about "tolerances", that's between us and the vendors. Our MAIN concern, and this is totally from a business standpoint, will be checking whether or not they will save "time & labor", both in the area of "fit & balancing". By this I mean we may end with more room between components, and this particular area is EXTREMELY important to us. We have a number of 3.875", 4.000", and 4.125" SB strokers in the pipeline. We now stock pistons (Ross) for our 4.000" strokers for our own builds. It'll take a few weeks to put the program in the system, and no final decision will be made until AFTER the dyno testing, although I see no potential problems. Events like this are beneficial to both parties in the program. We have less work, we pay less for the components, and the customer saves money. Thanks, Gary in N.Y.
P.S. If this program works, and that's a big IF, we'll be able to send the rods out for some $25.00 less than the Eagles. This WILL be passed along to my customers, and not "absorbed" by us. This is an advantage I absolutely like. I don't know if this an "initial offering" or not, but we'll cross that bridge when we get there. Right now it's not important. The order for the rods is written and pending. MOST important to us, will be the testing we perform.
