What manifolds are you using on your BB

I have a 68 with 427/454 with proper frame mounts and I was wondering what manifolds over the years have the best flow and will fit. I am not worried about numbers matching so I don't really need to go with the 3909879 and 3909880 or 3914613 and 3916178. People are too proud of them. If there any off newer 454's or something that would flow well and fit, that works for me. I want to push 475 hp+ using 049 heads if it matters for your reply. I want a somewhat stock look... Maybe I should consider headers anyway?
Thanks!!!

Re: What manifolds are you using on your BB

I have the 879 and 178 manifolds, and there is a reason to use the F-body specific manifolds. If you have power steering, an 879 has a cast in divot to clear the steering box, and it is tight even with that. Both sets have the F-body specific bends to allow the exhaust to fit properly.

I have no idea how they flow, but they don't look restrictive at all. They wouldn't be as efficient at scavenging as a long tube header, but...

You'd probably get more responses on our sister site www.chevelles.com

Might want to post there if you haven't already. Pretty good site it is.
