Power Steering Pump Pulley Removal

Where do you find the tool for removing a stamped pulley? I've mangled mine trying to use a normal puller...contrary to the recommendations in the shop manual. Pump is original from 66 so I was planning to replace anyway.

If the pulley is bad, I have removed them in a press.

Re: Power Steering Pump Pulley Removal

It was actually OK till I got to it. I needed to remove the pulley to remove the cradle for the new pump. I guess I'll to what I have to to get it off.

Re: Power Steering Pump Pulley Removal

I bought the set from OTC many years ago, best money I ever spent.

Similar to this set:

Re: Power Steering Pump Pulley Removal

I got mine from Harbor Freight for about $10 a few years back. Have used it a few times, but well worth the $$

Re: Power Steering Pump Pulley Removal

Noted...shop manual suggests using the nut to draw the new pulley on...won't be using a hammer.
