Purchase of Performance Parts

To purchase Chevy performance parts do you have to go to a Chevy Performance dealer or can any dealer order you the parts. Such as zz4 blocks.

Re: Purchase of Performance Parts

I'm pretty sure any Chevrolet dealership can order any GMPP item for you. However, make sure you have priced it at some of the bigger dealerships and Jegs/Summit/etc as you might be able to work a deal.

Also, make SURE you are clear as to if you have to pay the freight or not for a big item like a ZZ4 block. You shouldn't have to.

Definately check Sumit/Jegs or a larger dearel/ditributor like Scroggin Dickey. My local GMPP dealership wants $500 more than Dickey for the new Bowtie Vortec Heads. Even with the shipping, it's cheaper to order them from Dickey. There are other high volume dealers like Dickey out there that can give you better prices than you local dealer as well.

Its hard to beat their pricing if you live here locally like I do , shipping fees can make a differance.

Good idea. Would never had thought of that. How can they have a better price then a Chevy dealer?

I figure most small town Dealers are after every cent they can make so they won't discount like in the old days when you could pick up a -151 cam for 40 percent off their book!

I know the one in town here is like that.

And one other thing is that if you can do it, find a good gas mileage small S/W or Mini-P/U and drive and pick it up and save some more money IF the trip can be chalked up to a vacation day or two and the gas used is less than the freight bill! I've done this a lot in the past driving my Chevy Sprint ER and Metro 3-banger corn-popper's that got 50 mpg!

Re: Purchase of Performance Parts

They can sell for a betterprice because of the volume they buy. The more of something your buy at once, the cheaper you can get it. Your local dealer may only buy 2 blocks a year from GMPP, Dickey may buy 100 in one order.
