Funny, that ugly Camaro does nothing for me and I barely noticed it when slazisme and I were there, Yuk Yuk Yuk, puke. I'll take a 69 ZL1 before that steroid freak Camaro.

You decide.

I saw the 2017 ZL1 convert at Barrett Jackson in West Palm a couple of months ago. Pretty car!

I hear ya Mark. But the new Camaro in that picture is probably doing close to 200mph,, maybe, ya think?
And it sure doesn't look like a Viper while doing so!

Re: New 2017 ZL1 Camaro

New ZL1 is an ABSOLUTE BEAST. SS is incredible too. But the look, toilet bowl seat hood, etc. just doesn't do it for me. Chased me to a Scat Pack Challenger...love that big, comfy, ballsy cruiser.

My 68 ragtop is still the bomb, though.

The way I look at it, today all that HP is a waste of $ cause you can't use it on the street like we did in the 60's-early 70's. If you missed that era, then don't worry about it cause it'll never be back. I'd take a new Challenger or GT Fastback Stang before the juiced up Camaro.

Re: New 2017 ZL1 Camaro

Juiced up? That imply's someone just turned up the boost like they did with the hellcat. The Newest gen Camaro is a balanced package too, not die for, but to live for. Stunning in all respects. Ask Motor Trend.
So, we understand the new Camaro doesn't float your bubble. That's cool. But why the strong stance against it?

Re: New 2017 ZL1 Camaro

All I know is, every time I hit the key on our 2015 Z/28 I get a huge grin on my face. Use it on the street or not these new hot rods are pretty awesome. There's always a drag strip or road course ready for these cars. Not that I've had mine at the strip but I'm not sure how you can deny a low 12 second quarter mile on street tires. It's a new era and its not the same as the 60's, it's not supposed to be the same.

Re: New 2017 ZL1 Camaro

Of course I'd take a 69 ZL1 over a new one all day long, but for a new muscle car, I like it. "Opinions are like sphincters... Everyone has one and they all stink." Like Garth said, "It's a new era and its not the same as the 60's, it's not supposed to be the same." It's too bad they've priced new muscle out of reach of a lot of the guys that would really enjoy them. I guess it's really nothing new though.

I like it.
Although that wavy grille adds to the increasing complicated angular overall design. Whatever happened to "keep it simple stupid"?
Wondering if Chevy hired some of Toyota's designers......

Re: New 2017 ZL1 Camaro

I am not a big new car guy. I did like the 2010 Camaro design, and convinced my wife that it would be a good back up car, for us since we drive mostly older cars.

So I am not a big fan of the design of the new ZL-1. To me it is getting away from its original intensions of being a 1/4 mile power house. They kinda use the not-street-legal COPO for that now. I think they are missing the boat.
Plus the more crazy they get with the ZL-1,it makes me wonder how they are going to differentiate the Z/28.
I would have liked to have seen a big tire, big side wall (street ET) and somewhat narrow front tire (235 or so), on the ZL-1 and then some facia and body trim that looks more quarter mile oriented. Like a John Force inspired body work to bring the car into our century. I think this would have gotten all the quarter mile guys excited for the car. Then they could have focused on a track inspired car for the Z/28.
The way it is now the ZL-1 and Z/28 seem to similar, performance and looks wise. I think new car buyers like more distinction. I too would be looking at a Challenger right now, if I was looking to buy new, but that is just personal preference for the throw back looks, and there is no mistaking it for something else. The new Camaro is to import looking to me now.
Just my 2 cents

Why, cause it so ugly, plain and simple. Juiced means on steroids.
