Cool Neutral Safety Switch

'68'vert, automatic transmission, console, horseshoe shifter, console gauges,

I'm wiring up my Neutral Safety Switch on the console and was hoping someone could post a picture.
I'm looking for a picture with which color wires, go on which switch connectors.
I checked Tech area and JimM's stickeys, but couldn't find any photos.

Re: Neutral Safety Switch

Tony your pic there shows the colors and the connection screw pattern is easy to follow. You can find the colors and follow them along in this link too.

Cool Re: Neutral Safety Switch

My car is turning over now, but won't fire..
I'm not feeling very confident, and I want someone to double check my work..
The picture I added below has the switch connectors labelled 1,2,3,4.

If I'm looking at this correctly, I think it should be...
1 = Pink
2 = Light Green
3 = Purple
4 = Purple w/white stripe

If this is correct, I'll upload a pic tomorrow to add to the wiring collection.

Re: Neutral Safety Switch

We are digging back 6 years in the ole memory bank (when I pulled my powerglide out for good), but that's what I remember. The purple wires fit very close together, the backup light wires further apart. But why do I remember the 2 purple wires being together on a single plug? That would make it pretty easy.

Note that if she is turning over, you have solved problem #1 : neutral safety switch. It has nothing to do with fire, only cranking. Time to move on to the next problem.

Do you have power to the coil?
