Post Turn signal flashing faster and faster.

Last night I noticed that my turn signal in my 69 would start flashing normal and then get faster and faster. I bought a new heavier duty flasher but that did not solve the problem. What else do I need to check? Thanks

Re: Turn signal flashing faster and faster.

Please don't get mad but did you change the correct flasher. There are two of them, one for the turn signal and one for the emergency flasher.

I won't get mad and I didn't even think of there being two. I am asking for help and will take all suggestions. I only replaced one. It was located in the upper lefthand corner of the fuse block. So I probably changed the wrong one.

The other one is tucked under the dash or if it was like mine hanging down where is was hitting my knees. I don't remember which one was for which. I swapped both out at the same time.

Re: Turn signal flashing faster and faster.

The one on the fuseblock is the emergency flasher. The turn signal flasher is located in the center of the dash mounted to the center support. It's just clipped in. Here you can see it (top of pic) just to the right of the radio on the support.

Re: Turn signal flashing faster and faster.

Is there anything that can't be learned here???
I changed out the original round one back in the early 70's because with my ski-boat trailer hooked up, it flashed too fast. A heavy duty model was stable no matter what the load. It's still there. And the original is still in the 'memory parts' box.
