Points ignition = Purple wire is start wire from ign sw & neutral/clutch safety sw. Goes to "S" terminal of solenoid the engage same to start engine.
Yellow wire = start ignition wire from "R" solenoid terminal to primary terminal (+) of coil, supplies start voltage to ignition system for starting engine during the start cycle.
Most aftermarket mini-starters, I have read, do not have the second terminal, "R," on the solenoid. So, an external circuit has to be made to provide start ign voltage. Some use a Ford starter relay to supply start ignition voltage.
Just don't attach the yellow wire with the purple wire as the yellow wire will always keep the solenoid engaged due to ignition voltage going to the solenoid.
