Wiper motor problem

Hello,
I am attempting to find the park position of the wiper motor on my '69 Camaro. By viewing some old threads on this subject in this forum, I was able to download park position instructions.

The instructions say to connect power to one terminal and ground the motor. Connect a jumper wire from the high speed terminal to the motor body and the motor should run on high speed. Disconnect the jumper and the motor should park.

My problem is that, when 12v is connected to the first terminal, the motor begins running. Connecting jumper wires to either of the other terminals has no effect on the motor. Removing power stops the motor immediately.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks,

If you're connecting your power wire in thwe right place (where the yellow wire would normally go) then your motor has a bad park switch.

Have you tried the full bench test? The motors do wierd things if not hooked up to the switch with all connections.

Re: Wiper motor problem

Just want to jump in here and let you guys know that the advice that is given in these forums is very accurate and detailed. I had a problem with what I thought was the wiper motor(no high speed) on my '69 ProStreet SuperSport. I followed the link mentioned by Kevin and discovered that I had the switch incorrectly connected(Duh!).After connecting the switch the correct way the wiper motor works as it should.Camaros.net rocks!!!

Try Kevin's bench test. It can help out a ton.
