67 rs headligts wiring

I'm new here and can use some help.I recently bought what was presented as a RS car. The trim tag is gone so i'm not sure. it looks as though the car has pretty much been gone thru over the years. The problem i'm having is that the headlight doors will not close .i've already replaced all 3 relays.the relay that sits to one side clicks when the switch is turned off but thats all. I'm not much of a mehcanic & can't afford one so any help wold be appreciated

Re: 67 rs headligts wiring

It might not be a wiring issue. Those original headlight motors have a plastic gear that strips out easy or the motors may be toast. I don't think they were designed to last forty years...

Make sure the ignition switch is on. They will open but not close with the ignition off. Also take a look at my help page here:

Thanks for the help. I think the problem was dirty/loose connections & I did'nt know the switch had to be on. Your help page did just that, thanks again. This is a great site & I will probably be using it often

Re: 67 rs headligts wiring

Sounds like you've got it figured out.
On a side note just in case, for the doors to close the way the circuit is wired you have to have at least one working headlight installed to provide a ground path for the current
