Replacing tic toc tach

I've decided to replace my tic toc tach for 3 reasons:
1- clock doesn't work
2- measures wrong rpms (may be calibration)
3- mainly because I have a 396 and want it to readline at 5500.

I can order a reproduction from Rick's for $280. How difficult is it to replace? Any pitfalls to avoid? Thanks.

Re: Replacing tic toc tach

Easy to replace--especially if you already have the circuit board like you do.

The gauge housing mounting points (ears) break fairly easily-be careful.
